What a week it has been. I had been sick with my four year old daughter for several days and getting worse. We got an appointment to our doctor, after being unable to eat anything for four days and drinking very minimal amounts. The doctor took one look at us, placed us in the hospital. At this point we were in a lot of pain, I was only concerned about how long in the hospital and that my daughter and I would be kept together. We live an hour and half away from our hospital, so my husband would have to care for our other children.
The stay in the hospital was supposed to be overnight, we were released a week later. Everyday we spent was worth it, when you have blisters from the outside of your mouth down into your stomach (and all in between), breathing was even painful and difficult.
We still have a few weeks (they think) for a full recovery, so I will try to stay on top of my blog as best I can. We are both home on a number of medications and Vicodin to control the pain, so my mind is not always clear. To be honest I feel like my head is full of webs and the thought of thinking too much makes me feel dizzy. We had a change of meds today, so hopefully this will keep us from having to be placed back into the hospital.

I was hospitalized with my four-year old adopted daughter. She is my shadow, with me every moment of the day and she also has some special needs, that you forget people (especially in small towns) are not familiar with seeing on a regular basis. Not to mention we are both adopted with very limited medical information, it was interesting to watch people’s reaction and questions about it. I look forward to writing about our experience maybe starting tomorrow, if we get settled on our new meds. Sorry I have not posted in over a week. Do not give up on me I will be back writing before long.
